Things to See
Get away from the hustle and bustle with a tranquil trip to The Lakes.
Feast Your Eyes
When you go away, sometimes you want nothing more than to sit back and relax. In between the walks, take time to enjoy some of the best sites The Lakes has to offer.
Located in Keswick, Lodore Falls measure around 40ft, and are known for their incredible beauty. Surrounded my natural woodland and with parking just half a mile away, this is a truly great spot to take the weight of your feet and let your worries drift away.
Castlerigg Stone Circle
A collection of 38 free-standing stones just outside of Keswick is allegedly one of the earliest stone circle sites in the country, said to be constructed around 3000BC. Hauntingly beautiful and a real sight to behold.
As well as being a glorious example of a traditional Lake District castle, Muncaster is home to The Hawk & Owl Centre, with more than 40 species of bird on site. With shows twice daily, this is a real chance to see some very regal birds and learn a little something too!
If the wind or the cold is getting a little too much, you can always pop to Zeffirellis to sample their awesome vegetarian menu followed by a film. You can even bag yourself a two-course meal and a movie for just £20!

The lodge was lovely!! Well decorated, comfortable, homely, inviting & in a stunning area of tranquility which was far enough from the tourist spots to feel secluded but close enough for convenience. Tony was extremely kind in allowing us to stay on different days than normally scheduled as it was a special occasion and we were very grateful for his generosity in doing so. After the expectations of the lodge and location exceeded our expectations we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to friends and family for a holiday and have already done so since returning. We didn’t get to use the hot tub as often as hoped but after a 20 minute minute soak I was glad we had it available. The locals are friendly and quite honestly we would have been happy if we spent all of our time in the lodge as it was so nice to be away from London and just hear the sheep and birds instead of cars and traffic! Thank you Tony, we will certainly consider coming again.
I will definitely be booking this again, I had regular contact with the owner who made the process very easy too.
The lodge was very spacious and well turned out and even had walk-in wardrobes too! It had every mod-con you could think of and it was those little extras that really made it a home from home.
My family and I have just returned from a weekend break at this lodge and it did not disappoint. The photos are a real picture of what it is like and even in the cold weather the hot tub was a welcome bonus!
My mum and I had such a lovely time. The chalet was very well kitted out and comfortable. Amazing setting, beautiful scenery and we were so lucky with the weather. It was great we could take our dog, who also had a lovely time. I can’t recommend it highly enough and Tony was so accommodating, as we had to cancel last minute last year due to personal unforeseen circumstances. He is a true gentleman!
